Private Charter FAQs

The answers to your private aircraft charter questions.

General Private Jet Charter

How much does it cost to charter a private jet?

The cost to charter a private jet depends on a few key questions. Where will you be travelling to and from?  How many passengers and when will you be travelling?  For example, an approximate cost for an 8 seat, mid size private jet from London to Nice in December could be £1400 per person. There will be other factors affecting price but our aim will always be to find the right aircraft at the right price for you. Use our quick, get a quote form to find out more.

We can offer private jet charters for any number of passengers. And not just people, we regularly arrange flights solely for pets and personal belongings.

How much luggage can I take on a private jet?

The amount of luggage will be dependent on the size of the aircraft. Most private jets have capability to hold whatever's needed for your trip and more; whether in the hold or in the cabin. We will be happy to talk through your needs about any specific luggage. Call +44 1293 551244

Can I take my pets on a private jet?

Yes, we are regularly asked to arrange flights for pets; whether travelling with a client or by themselves.  For full details on the do's and don'ts of travelling with pets please see our 'Travelling with Pets' page.

How long before my private charter flight do I need to arrive at the airport?

One of the key benefits of travelling by private jet is the reduced waiting time before departure. We recommend arriving 30 minutes before take-off but this can be reduced to 15 minutes at many airports.

How can I reduce the cost of my private flight?

The cost of a private jet charter has many variables but one sure way of getting a lower price is by using what's known as an 'empty leg'. These are flights that are due to operate without passengers. Perhaps a plane has been chartered to take passengers one way, so the return sector for the aircraft will be empty. This becomes an 'empty leg'. For more details on empty legs please click here.

Do I still need to show my passport when travelling by private charter?

If your private flight is within the UK ( departing and arriving) then you will need to show a form of identity with a photo; a passport or a driving photo license. If you're travelling internationally then you will need to show your passport to travel.

What is an 'empty leg'?

An empty leg is when a flight is due to operate on a sector without any passengers. As the aircraft will be flying the sector anyway, the empty leg is offered at a reduced cost of the regular flight cost.  Take a look at our 'Save Money on Flights' blog article for more details.

What is an airport FBO?

A Fixed Base Operator is the term given to the services and facilities available at an airport. Many airports have dedicated private terminals, whilst some have private facilities within their main terminals.

If your private flight is within the UK (arrival and departure) then you will need to show a form of identity with a photo; a passport or a driving license card. If you're travelling internationally then the need for a passport is dependent on the flight destination and nationality.

However, we would recommend that our clients always carry their passports with them, even if they are not required to by the carrier or immigration.

At larger airports the private jet terminals will have a dedicated customs and immigration staff. At smaller airports customs and immigration officials will be aware of the private flight and can make special visits to the terminal to meet the flight.

On Board Your Private Charter

Will there be food provided on a private flight?

VIP catering suitable for the time of day will be provided on - board. For small cabin aircraft this will normally be pre-prepared buffet style catering. For larger cabin aircraft which have galley facilities, catering can be prepared on board and hot meals served during the flight. All flights will have a fully licensed bar and soft drinks. If you have any special catering requirements please let us know.

Will there be cabin crew on a private flight?

Some private jets do come with a Flight Attendant on board as standard; however this is not always the case with the smaller aircraft. Depending on the size of your private jet, we can arrange a Flight Attendant to assist you on your journey.
